Revolutionary correction finally available for farsightedness. SMILE PRO now available at CMO Laser.

SMILE, the most modern laser vision correction method, has previously relieved nearsightedness and astigmatism. Now, thanks to the new laser, farsightedness can also be corrected! The improved SMILE PRO procedure is now being offered by the Laser Eye Microsurgery Center in Warsaw, a Polish leader in ophthalmological innovation.

The introduction of the SMILE method (then ReLEx® SMILE) to patients in 2012 was considered a breakthrough in refractive surgery. It is characterized by minimal invasiveness – significantly less than other laser vision correction techniques. To this day, SMILE ensures the fastest recovery and stabilization of vision. Full visual acuity is achieved the very next day after the procedure.

This is because SMILE is a “deep” method. The reshaping of the cornea, necessary to correct the vision defect, is achieved not by removing its superficial layers, but by cutting a microlens from within. The lens is removed through a microincision measuring just 2.5-4 mm in length. This minimally invasive approach ensures patients the highest post-operative comfort and the fastest return to full activity.

A groundbreaking SMILE also for hyperopia

Until recently, the innovative SMILE method could only correct nearsightedness and nearsighted astigmatism. People with hyperopia had to resort to more invasive, “superficial” methods. Only the latest generation of the femtosecond laser – the ZEISS VISUMAX 800 – allows SMILE to be used to correct farsightedness. CMO Laser, a leading private eye clinic in Warsaw, has already purchased the device.

Thanks to the SMILE PRO procedure performed with the VISUMAX 800 laser, patients can completely eliminate glasses or contact lenses – whether they are nearsighted, farsighted, or have astigmatism. This is the most advanced laser vision correction method available, guaranteeing the fastest recovery, stabilized vision, and maximum comfort.

A Pioneer in Laser Correction

The Laser Eye Microsurgery Center, known for implementing ophthalmological innovations, was founded almost three decades ago by Professor Jerzy Szaflik, an undisputed authority in ophthalmology and founder of the Warsaw School of Ophthalmology. In 1996, the clinic became the first private center in Poland to offer patients laser vision correction. To date, tens of thousands of such procedures have been performed here.
